XL 5000 or XL 6000 demo on design transfer! (same screens on either machine)

Setting up the Machine and the computer!

Start by setting up the cables and the connection to your machine.

In the box that came with the machine you received a serial cable and a CD program called conversion tool.

Install the conversion tool program. You will see a program icon on your desktop for the conversion tool. We will show you how to use it later, after set-up.

If you do not have a serial connection on the computer you will need a USB to serial connection.

If you are having trouble finding one you can order it from us here! This is the USB to serial cable.

The next step is to place the CD for your USB to serial connector into the computer. This CD is the driver for the USB connector.

Plug in the USB plug  to the computer and it will call for the driver.

Please read captions below or above each picture. Your screen will say: found new hardware. Click on the balloon and the computer will search for the hardware.

It will start to search for the driver. Give it time to search your computer.

The screen will prompt a finish.

Once the installation of the driver is completed make sure you plug your machine serial cable into the USB cable. This serial cable came with the machine and is the cable that is plugged into the machine.

Below are pictures of the machine connections. Make sure the null serial cable that came with the XL6000 is the cable you use in the machine.

Once the machine and computer are connected you are ready to set up your machine. View the pictures below to help you understand the machine proces
