Multi-hooping fabric bowls
| To make a multi-hoop fabric bowl open a new screen, click
new and pick the multi-hoop. Place a hoop on the multi-hoop image.

|
| Set the parameter measurement to inches in the upper left
corner. Using a single straight stitch and the 3 mark from the left
of zero and to the right of zero, digitize a checker board. If you have
made a fabric bowl you know you will need a 5 to 5 1/2" center. That
is what our checkerboard has provided.
Since the hoop will is only 10" wide but 20" long, we will
make a design that we can embroider north and south. Then we will turn the
bowl fabric to embroider the last 2 ends.
|
| We choose a design from the PSW library.

|
| Make you you place a stop between the flowers so you can
multihoop each area. Flip the bottom flower vertically.

|
| The 3 flower sections are now set to multihoop for a fabric
bowl. save as northsouthbowl.psw

|
| select the center square and delete the rose design. This
is the multi-hoop design for the east-west part of the fabric bowl. Save
as eastwestbowl.psw

|
| write each design "as multi-hoop"

|
| To sew the design cut a 20" square. Place a wash away
center cross marking the X and Y. Once you have multi-hooped and sewn your
criss cross of roses for the fabric bowl on the fabric, bond the fabric to
"stiff stuff" using "wonder under". Bond a lining to
the back of the stiff stuff. Trim the bowl to 16". . Cut a 1/2"
to 1"wide dart at each corner that extends to the center 5"
square. Butt the dart edges and use a wide satin stitch zig-zag to draw
the bowl into a shape. Stain stitch the out side edges. |
