Decorative Border

To capture an image to use in digitizing I sometimes look at the internet. Here is a page from the Singer web site. I am looking at the 9940 stitches chart. Pick a stitch and right click on it. "Save picture as" on your computer for an image to use later.

Open the image in your PSW.

Place a hoop around the image to check the size. We are using a continuous hoop.

Using the branches method to fill the area, click from the right to the left side all the way down the image to create the sphere border.

Right click to finish and place the start and stop points. You have now digitized one section. Remove the image by clicking on the picture frame image on the left tool bar. Click ZZ on the key pad to zoom out.

Select the design and copy. Move the design to the top center of the hoop. I use my cursor to line up the center with 0. Close the select screen. Click on stop and paste in the new section.

Continue to paste and place a stop in between each section until you have 4 sections. We paced stops so if we need to edit during the process we can. We are then going to remove the stops when we are done. Go to stitch edit and click on the spy glasses. Chose stop to view. Click ok. Use the arrow to the right of the spy glass to move to the first stop.

Once the large cross is at the stop, click on the tool bar eraser. hit the left arrow on you key pad twice and then click enter. The stop is gone. Continue to eliminate the stops.

Here is the border in realistic view. I have decided after sewing out this design that satin stitch is too wide and want to edit the design. Click on the edit tool on the left tool bar. Click on the section.

Right click and choose properties. Choose stitch type and choose step stain.

Here is another border I did using 2 stitch borders together in one design.
