Scan an imagine or find clip art of a leaf image. I have included a
few in our download and will tell you where at the end of the lesson.![]() |
I have faded the image to show I have digitized a running stitch around
the imagine. Even though this program has an auto appliqué feature
I prefer to digitize my own appliqué. The first step in sewing the
appliqué would be to lay the appliqué fabric down on the
background, sew the outline and using sharp scissors, trim up to the running
stitch.![]() |
Change color so the machine stops and them digitize the stain stitch
and the details. |
I used a running stitch for the veins and then a color change and a
turning angles fill in stain for the stem.![]() |
As you can see appliqué is fast and easy to do. Using a combination
embroidery or a program like the Customizer you can layout your leaves
for a pleasing effect.![]() |
