Basic Multi-hooping

Here is a brief review of built-in multi-hooping on the XL5000. Multi-hooping allows you to plan a design that is bigger than one hooping. You move the hoop to each area to be hooped and capture the design area and stitch it out. The program in the machine remembers what you sewed and what needs to be sewn and how it fits together. The reference of a large drawn cross using the "X" and "Y" coordinates gives the machine eyes to make sure all is straight and comes together perfectly.

We decided to do some lettering. You will note we choose the multi-hoop frame to place the lettering in because it is larger than one hoop.

We then resized the lettering to 45mm.

Once you have determined what your design is you then position the hoop over the first sewing or hooped area using the arrow keys.

Now you see what is going to sew and how the hoop will relate to the drawn X and Y lines.

The next machine screen will show you the stitches in the top screen and the design in the middle screen as it relates to the hoop.

Touch the Y line in the first location and align the material using the arrows to the right so the needle is aligned exactly on the Y line. The next 2 pictures relate to this task.

Next find the second Y point and repeat.

Find one X coordinate and align the needle exactly as you did the Y.

Your are now ready to sew the first hooping of the multi-hoop. The second hooping is done the same way. Rehoop, move the hoop image to cover the area that has not been stitched and repeat the steps.
