XL5000/XL6000 demo of the bobbin winder and the thread
exchanger
As we start our demo of the XL5000 we see that the machine has a special
bobbin for winding thread in the machine. To wind in the sewing mode, insert
the bobbin, white gear down, replace the case cover and lower the feed.
Thread the machine top thread.
The drop feed and fill the bobbin screen appears. Touch OK!
To thread the needle with thread, stage the thread through the first
thread guide on the top of the machine. Touch the spool symbol and this
screen appears. Touch the top icon and the machine threads.
Here is the top threader in action. Unbelievable
To wind the bobbin pick the bobbin fill level you want and then touch
the bobbin wind symbol and via!
The bobbin will fill in the machine for sewing using the needle thread
to fill the bobbin.
To fill the continuous bobbin you must attach the embroidery unit.
This feature only works when the embroidery unit is on and once the thread
is staged, the bobbin will continue to fill as you embroider until the
spool of bobbin thread is empty. To stage the thread touch the bobbin winding
symbol on the machine and use the gray threader to lay the thread into
the bobbin winder correctly.
Tuck the bobbin thread tail inside before you close the stage area
cover. Make sure you clear all loose threads from this area and keep it
clean.
Close the cover of the bobbin winder and you are ready to embroider.
Thread your top thread exchangers by staging "A" thread first and then
threading the needle.
As the needle threads, do not pull the looped thread through. Leave
the thread loop and the machine will follow through just fine.
Stage the second color
Once you choose a design and have entered it your screen will look
like this. You are now ready to sew.
Choose "A" to "B" on the thread exchanger. After "A" thread sews, change
it and touch the "B" to "A" symbol as the machine is sewing for continuos
embroidery.
For the Santa design we choose we will need the large hoop. The new
hoop is now fit with a soft gasket for better slip control. We have found
however that using Tear Easy in the hoop and then applying the top fabric
to the Tear Easy with KK 2000 stick spray is the best way to eliminate
puckers.
